Pinnacle is a personal trading tracker built for Cash (equity) and F&O traders, plus long-term investors. Instead of scattered spreadsheets, screenshots, and broker apps, everything lives in one private place, scoped only to your own account — nobody else, not even other Pinnacle users, can see your trades.
Pinnacle can:
Log every entry with a required Trade Thesis — the setup and rationale you had before the trade, so you can hold yourself accountable to your own plan later.
Track Cash, F&O (Intraday/Positional), and long-term Investments as three separate books, each with its own tables and stats.
Edit or book (exit) any open position — full or partial — directly from the table it's shown in, or from a dedicated Manage panel.
Hold trades across more than one demat/broker account under one login, and view them combined or one at a time.
Show live-ish market prices and unrealized P&L on open Cash and Investment positions (F&O options premiums aren't available live from any free source, so those columns stay blank rather than guess).
Import trades in bulk from a template, or auto-detect and parse a closed-trade P&L statement exported from most major Indian brokers.
Compute real performance stats — win rate, average win/loss, risk:reward — and coach you based on your own numbers.
Keep a trading Journal of wins, mistakes, and notes.
Let you request account deletion yourself, with a 90-day undo window.
2. Getting started
Sign in with Google. There's no separate password to create — your Pinnacle account is tied to your Google account.
Set your Total Capital on the Dashboard the first time you sign in — this is the denominator Pinnacle uses to compute your Total ROI %.
Add a demat account under the Profile tab if you haven't already (most accounts get a default "Self" one automatically). If you trade across more than one broker, add one entry per broker/account here — every trade you log gets tagged with which one it belongs to.
Combined vs. Individual viewing: once you have a second demat account, a Viewing toggle appears at the top of every page. Combined shows every account's trades together everywhere (Dashboard, Stats, the Exit picker); Individual scopes everything to just one account at a time. This is a display choice only — your data is always safely separated underneath regardless of which you pick.
3. How to enter a trade
Go to + Trade Entry in the top navigation — this is the only place new trades are logged.
Make sure the Entry mode is selected (it's the default).
Pick a Category first: F&O (Intraday or Positional), Trade (Cash — equity), or Investment (long-term Investment or Reinvestment of profit). This decides which table the position lands in.
Pick the Demat Account this trade belongs to — required for every entry.
Type the Instrument name (e.g. RELIANCE, RELIANCE 1300 CE, or Nifty BeES) and the Side (Buy/long or Sell/short).
Fill in Price and Quantity (for F&O, enter Lots and Lot size instead — quantity is calculated automatically).
Optionally set a Stop and Target, and any Charges (brokerage + taxes).
Write your Trade Thesis — why you're taking this trade. This field is required for Cash and F&O trades (not for Reinvestment rows) — Pinnacle won't save the entry without it.
Click Add entry.
The Entry form — Category, Demat Account, Instrument, Side, Price/Quantity, optional Stop/Target/Charges, and the required Trade Thesis.
Adding to an existing position? If you enter the same instrument, side, and category again in the same demat account, Pinnacle automatically averages it into your existing open position (new weighted-average entry price, combined quantity) instead of creating a duplicate row. The same stock held in different demat accounts always stays as separate underlying positions, even though the Dashboard may display them together — see the note in §6.
4. How to edit a trade
There are two ways to edit an open position — pick whichever is more convenient in the moment.
Method A — the Book/Edit button (fastest)
Dashboard · Investment tab
Find the position's row in Open F&O, Open Cash, or Long-term Investments.
Click the Book/Edit button on that row.
A panel opens showing every underlying position that makes up that row (if you hold the same stock in more than one demat account, you'll see one line per account). Click Edit next to the one you want to change.
Update whichever fields need fixing — instrument, side, entry price, quantity, entry date, charges, stop, target, or your thesis — then click Save changes.
Clicking Book/Edit shows every real position behind that row — here, one stock held across two demat accounts. The Edit form — every field from the original entry is editable except which demat/category it belongs to.
What you can't change here: the Demat Account and the Cash/F&O/Investment category are fixed in this quick-edit form, on purpose — it's meant for fixing a wrong number, not re-categorizing a trade. If you genuinely need to move a position to a different demat account or category, use Method B below, which does allow reassigning the demat account.
Method B — the Manage panel
Trade Entry tab, right-hand column
Go to + Trade Entry — the Manage / edit trades panel sits on the right.
Make sure Open trades is selected.
Pick the position from the dropdown.
Edit any field, including reassigning it to a different Demat Account if needed, then click Save changes.
The Manage panel — the same edit fields as Method A, plus the ability to reassign the Demat Account, and a Delete button.
This same panel also handles closed trades — you can edit a closed trade's numbers (P&L recomputes live as you type) or move it back to Open if it was booked by mistake.
5. How to book (exit) a trade
"Booking" a trade means closing some or all of an open position and recording the resulting profit/loss as a closed trade. Every method below supports full or partial booking and asks for the same three things: a booking date, a booking rate, and how much quantity to book.
Method A — the Book/Edit button (fastest)
Dashboard · Investment tab
Click Book/Edit on the position's row, then click Book next to the specific demat leg you want to close.
Enter the booking date and booking rate (the price/premium you exited at).
Choose Full to close the entire open quantity, or Partial to reveal a quantity field and close just part of it — the remaining quantity stays open.
Optionally add charges and a note, then check the live Projected P&L preview before confirming.
Click Book exit.
Booking a partial exit — date, rate, Full/Partial toggle, quantity, and a live P&L preview.
Method B — Trade Entry → Exit
+ Trade Entry tab
Go to + Trade Entry and switch to the Exit mode.
Pick the open position you're closing from the dropdown.
Fill in the exit date, exit price, and exit quantity (leave quantity blank to book the full position).
Click Book exit.
The Exit form under Trade Entry — same booking logic, reached from a dedicated tab instead of the table row.
Method C — the Manage panel
Trade Entry tab, right-hand column
Select an open position in the Manage panel (see §4 Method B) and click ⏻ Exit trade to reveal the same booking fields inline.
All three methods run the exact same profit/loss calculation and update the same tables — Stats, Weekly performance, and your Dashboard's Realized P&L all refresh immediately after any of them. Use whichever is most convenient at the time.
6. Reading your Dashboard
The Dashboard is the home screen — it shows your capital, realized P&L, ROI, and every currently open position across F&O and Cash.
The Dashboard — KPI strip on top, Open F&O and Open Cash tables below.
Column
What it means
Days
How long the position has been held, counted from its entry date to today.
Avg/Entry
Your entry price — a quantity-weighted average if the same stock shows up across more than one demat account.
CMP / Cur.Val / Unreal / %
Live-ish current market price, current value, and unrealized profit/loss (₹ and %). F&O options don't have a free live-quote source, so these stay blank there rather than guess.
Stop
Your stop-loss, if you set one at entry (or via Edit).
Status
Always "OPEN" on these tables — booked positions move to Stats' closed-trade lists.
Note on merged rows: if you hold the same stock in two different demat accounts, the Dashboard shows it as one combined row for readability (combined quantity, weighted-average entry). Underneath, they're still two separate positions — click Book/Edit to see and act on each one individually.
7. Long-term Investments & Reinvested Profits
The Investment tab is split into two sections:
Long-term Investments — open positions logged with the "Investment" category at Trade Entry. Same table layout as Open Cash (including CMP/Unreal and the Book/Edit button), kept separate because these aren't part of your day-to-day trading P&L headline.
Reinvested Profits — a simple running log of profit you've chosen to reinvest (e.g. into an index fund), logged via Trade Entry's "Reinvestment" category.
The Investment tab — Long-term Investments above, Reinvested Profits below.
8. Importing trades from your broker
Go to + Trade Entry → ⬆ Import. Two options:
Bulk template (easiest) — download the ready-made spreadsheet, fill in your open and closed Cash/F&O trades, and upload it. Pinnacle detects the template and imports everything automatically.
Broker P&L statement — upload a closed-trades export (CSV or Excel) from your broker directly. Pinnacle auto-detects the format for every major Indian broker; for anything it doesn't recognize by content, you confirm the column mapping yourself before importing.
The Import tab — bulk template download, or upload a broker statement directly.
The Stats tab computes live over every trade you've ever closed: number of trades, average win/loss, win rate, and your risk:reward ratio (average win ÷ average loss) — separately for Cash and F&O. A short coaching message reacts to your actual risk:reward number. Below that, collapsible sections list every closed Cash, F&O, and Investment trade, and a Weekly performance view groups your booked P&L by week and month.
Stats — KPI strips, a risk:reward coaching message, closed-trade collapsibles, and weekly performance.
10. Journal
A simple place to log wins, mistakes, and general notes about your trading — separate from any specific trade. Add an entry with a date, kind (Win/Learning/Mistake/Note), title, and body.
The Journal — add an entry above, browse past entries below.
11. Profile, Demat Accounts & account deletion
The Profile tab holds your personal details at the top, and your Demat Accounts below that — add as many as you trade through, rename or delete them (deleting is blocked if a demat account still has trades linked to it — reassign those first via the Manage panel). A Danger zone at the bottom lets you request account deletion yourself once your account is 6 months old; it's archived for 90 days and fully restorable just by signing back in during that window.
Profile — your details, Demat Accounts list, and the account-deletion Danger zone.
12. Getting more help
Look for the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the app once you're signed in — it's a self-learning Help assistant that answers common questions about using Pinnacle. If it doesn't know an answer, it logs the question so it can be taught the answer later.
This page is also linked from the Help link in the footer of every tab, and from the sign-in screen.
